FARSØ: Vesthimmerlands Kommune gentager succesen fra sidste år, og fejrer International Day. I år er det Farsø der har glæden af at stå for værtskabet, hvor kommunens borgere kan mødes på tværs af nationaliteter og kulturer.
International Day finder i eftermiddag i Dronning Ingrid Hallerne, hvor mangfoldigheden i kommunen skal fejres. Det bliver en festlig eftermiddag med alt fra spændende oplæg, smagsprøver fra forskellige lande, live musik og en markedsplads med boder.
Der er stor lokal opbakning til arrangementet fra foreninger, uddannelser, erhverv og spisesteder, som alle gerne ville mødes på tværs af kulturer med mere end 30 boder og et fyldt program. Her kan man b.la. møde lokale foreninger og erhverv, som står klar til at fortælle om de mange muligheder i kommunen, som f.eks. Jeld-Wen, International House, Meet the Locals, Ukrainsk Forening og Himmerlands Erhvervs- og Gymnasieuddannelser.
Derudover kan man smage retter fra f.eks. Sumatra, Somalia, Thailand og flere, høre det multikulturelle band Pachamama, og deltage i aktiviteter for hele familien – og det er blot nogle af de mange spændende oplevelser, som kan findes til arrangementet.
International Day er arrangeret i tæt samarbejde mellem Vesthimmerlands Kommune, Jobcenter Vesthimmerland, Erhverv Væksthimmerland, lokale foreninger, uddannelsesinstitutioner og virksomheder, som alle gerne vil sætte kommunens 75 forskellige nationaliteter i fokus.
-Arrangementet var en stor succes sidste år, fyldt med masser af smil og en god stemning, og vi er derfor spændte på at afholde arrangementet igen i år. Vi er en alsidig kommune med borgere som kommer fra hele verden, og som alle er en del af det fællesskab der findes i Vesthimmerland. Derfor vælger vi at afholde denne festdag, da mangfoldigheden og fællesskabet er værd at fejre. Så kom og deltag i arrangementet, uanset nationalitet, og vær med til at fejre et mangfoldigt Vesthimmerland, opfordrer Vesthimmerland Kommunes borgmester, Per Bach Laursen.
Alle er velkommen til at deltage i det gratis arrangement, både nuværende og fremtidige beboere i kommunen, men også borgere på tværs af kommunegrænserne.

Vesthimmerland Municipality celebrates the diversity with International Day 2023
Vesthimmerland Municipality repeats its success from last year, and celebrates International Day again, on November 16th. Here, Farsø have the joy of hosting the event, where citizens can meet across nationalities and cultures.
On November 16th, 2023, from 4pm to 7pm at Dronning Ingrid Hallerne in Farsø, everyone can join International Day, where diversity in the municipality is celebrated. It is going to be a celebratory day with everything from exciting presentations, taste samples from different countries, live music and a marketplace with stalls.
There is a large amount of support for the event, from associations, educational institutions, businesses and restaurants, who all want to meet up across cultures with more than 30 stalls and a full program. Here, you can e.g. meet local associations and businesses who are ready to tell you about the many opportunities which are found in the municipality, like e.g. Jeld-Wen, International House, Meet the Locals, Ukrainsk Forening and Himmerlands Erhvervs- og Gymnasieuddannelser.
You can also taste dishes from e.g. Sumatra, Somalia, Thailand and more, hear the multicultural band Pachamama and participate in activities for the entire family – and these are just some of the many exciting experiences, which can be found at the event.
International Day is arranged in close collaboration between Vesthimmerland Municipality, Jobcenter Vesthimmerland, Erhverv Væksthimmerland, local associations, educational institutions and businesses, who all want to focus on the 75 different nationalities in the municipality.

We are a diverse community with citizens from all over the world, and who are all a part of the community which is found in Vesthimmerland. That is why, we chose to have this celebratory day, as the diversity and community is worth celebrating. So, come along and participate in the event, no matter your nationality, and join us in celebrating the diversity of Vesthimmerland”, explains the mayor of Vesthimmerland Municipality, Per Bach Laursen, excited.
Everyone is welcome to participate in the free event, both current and future citizens in the municipality, but also citizens across municipality borders. So, bring your family, your friends or your neighbors and join International Day.
